About this disclaimer
This page explains what counseling support at Mind & Matter is, and—just as importantly—what it is not. It is written plainly because the difference matters, and because someone looking for help deserves to know exactly what they are being offered.
It describes the position as it actually stands, and does not claim compliance with any particular statute, regulation or professional registration scheme.
02
What counseling support is
Counseling support at Mind & Matter is a private 30 minutes conversation where you can talk openly, take your time and be heard without judgment. The fee is ₹450.
It is offered by Neha V. Vaidya. What she does and does not hold by way of background is set out on the About page; nothing beyond what is stated there should be assumed.
03
What it is not
Counseling support is not a clinical service, and it is not presented as one. Specifically, it is not:
- Therapy or psychotherapy
- Psychiatric treatment
- Clinical psychological assessment or treatment
- Diagnosis of any condition
- Prescription of, or advice about, medication
- Emergency or crisis mental-health care
If what you need is any of the above, counseling support at Mind & Matter is not the right service, and saying so early is part of the job. Appropriate qualified services will be recommended instead.
04
Not an emergency service
Mind & Matter is not an emergency service. Sessions are scheduled in advance, there is no out-of-hours cover, and a request sent through this website may not be seen quickly.
If you or someone you know is in immediate danger, or needs urgent specialist support, please contact appropriate emergency or qualified mental-health services rather than waiting for an appointment.
Tele-MANAS
Government of India — Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. National tele-mental health helpline. Available around the clock, in multiple languages.
If there is immediate danger to life, contact emergency services or go to the nearest hospital straight away. Emergency services can be reached on 112.
05
Referral
Where a situation appears to require specialist or urgent intervention, appropriate qualified services will be recommended or referred to. This is a normal part of the work, not a refusal of it.
A referral is a signpost to a service better suited to help. It is not a diagnosis, and it does not imply any clinical assessment has been made.
06
Privacy of conversations
What you say in a counseling support conversation is treated as private and is not discussed with others as a matter of course.
Absolute confidentiality cannot be promised. There may be limited circumstances in which information has to be shared — for example where there appears to be a serious risk to the safety of you or someone else, or where disclosure is required by law. Where that arises, it will be discussed with you wherever it is possible to do so.
Separately, please do not send highly sensitive personal or health information through the forms on this website. They are ordinary web forms, not a secure channel. The Privacy Policy sets out how information sent through the site is handled.
07
Separate from legal services
Counseling support is a separate service from legal representation. Where a situation involves both personal and legal concerns, the two are approached separately and the distinction is explained clearly.
A counseling conversation is not legal advice, and a legal consultation is not counseling. The limits of the legal side are set out in the Legal Disclaimer.
08
No guaranteed outcomes
No particular result is promised. Counseling support offers a space to think and be heard; it does not guarantee that a relationship will change, that a decision will become easy, or that a difficulty will resolve.
Sending an enquiry or booking a session creates no obligation on you to continue, and you are free to stop at any point.
09
Children and adolescents
Mind & Matter offers counseling support for children and adolescents, alongside their parents. Where an enquiry concerns a young person, it should be made by a parent or guardian.
Please take particular care over what is included about a child. A brief note that the enquiry concerns a child, and what kind of support is being sought, is enough to arrange an appropriate conversation. Anything further is better discussed directly.
10
Website content is not counseling
The pages and articles on this website are general information. They are not counseling, not a substitute for speaking to someone, and not written with knowledge of your circumstances.
Reading this website, or sending an enquiry through it, does not by itself create a counseling relationship. That begins only when expressly agreed.
